George Z. Miller, CFP®, CDFA, serves as managing director of Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Miller, Wiggin & Associates, Inc., a fee-only financial planning firm, where he provides portfolio management, general financial planning and pre-divorce financial planning to an array of clients.

Miller launched Miller, Wiggin & Associates, Inc. with partner Deborah F. Wiggin, after having spent more than 21 years in the banking and insurance industries.

Before opening his financial planning firm with partner Deborah F. Wiggin, Miller worked with Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company for six years as a life insurance agent. His responsibilities also included investment counseling and business benefit consulting.

Previously, Miller was vice president/trust officer for Midlantic Florida Coast National Bank in Fort Lauderdale, where he oversaw the bank’s corporate trust and operations departments for four years. Before joining MidLantic, he also spent 11 years at SunTrust Bank in Fort Lauderdale. He served at SunTrust as vice president/operations officer, where he oversaw the credit and bookkeeping departments and managed 75 staff members, and then moved to vice president/trust officer overseeing bank operations, overseeing 30.

Miller served as a captain in the Finance Corps of the U.S. Army before joining SunTrust. For three years, Miller was stationed in Frankfurt, West Germany. There, Miller was responsible for the payroll for 21,000 civilian and military employees, and he oversaw a $350 million bank account. He supervised a staff of 47 military employees and 40 civilians.

Miller, a Coral Springs resident, received a bachelor’s degree in business from Stetson University and a master’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University.

Miller is a member of the International Association of Certified Financial Planners, Institute for Certified Financial Planners, The Association of South Florida Mediators, Financial Planning Association of Miami, and Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts (IDFA). He also is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Certified Family Mediator.
